XpressCash

How does the XpressCash solution dispense start funds?

The XpressCash solution’s Start Funds Transaction quickly and seamlessly prepares tills, eliminating the need to count cash manually.

The XpressCash solution gives store managers the flexibility to preset start funds for users by role, time of day or day of the week. When a cashier logs into XpressCash with their user ID, their profile is already set to a predefined start-fund amount, by denomination. They simply press Dispense and then Start Funds. The preset amount is then dispensed.

After start funds are dispensed, the system will automatically print a receipt. This receipt can be saved in the cashiers’ drawer. There is also the option to print additional receipts for any type of transaction, in the event more copies are needed.

The Start Funds function eliminates time spent manually counting and dual verification by managers. As a result, cashiers can focus on customer needs, consultations, and up-selling the moment they walk in.

How can cashiers use the XpressCash solution to get the denominations they need?

Whenever a cashier needs different denominations in their drawer, they can do an exchange. This transaction not only gives them the lower denominations they need but also secures high denomination notes, reducing the risk of theft.

All they have to do is log in to the XpressCash solution, place the hundreds into the collection tray, press Exchange, and then Start. The recycler will then count and validate the notes, showing how much cash by denomination and amount was deposited. The cashier continues the transaction by pressing Accept. A suggested mix of smaller bills will be displayed. If the cashier needs more ones, they can prompt the solution to dispense that denomination only. The solution prints a receipt for the cashier’s drawer and now the cashier has the necessary bills in their till.

When the store is busy, how can managers leverage the XpressCash solution to make change and replenish tills while accurately keeping track of cash?

The XpressCash solution’s On Behalf Of transaction makes it easy to keep each cashier accountable for their own till balance during busy times, or if there’s an emergency and someone has to leave suddenly in the middle of their shift.

When the manager comes by and skims the drawer, they log into XpessCash under their own user ID and perform a deposit “on-behalf of” the employee for whom they skimmed the cash. They simply select Deposit, press On Behalf Of, and then select the user they are doing the deposit for. The manager will place the cash into the recycler, and the XpressCash solution records the amount it counted and includes that total in user’s daily transactions for their end of day balance.

A receipt will be printed for the drawer, and cashiers and managers continue with ease and confidence, knowing all drawers are accounted for and will be in balance. The “on-behalf of” feature can be used for withdrawals, deposits and other transactions that may take place.

How can a cashier complete a simple withdrawal to get more cash in their till?

If a cashier needs more cash in their till, they simply log into the XpressCash solution and press Dispense. They then enter the amount they nee for the drawer. The solution will display a suggested mix of bills. The cashier can accept this mix or alter it by manually selecting the amount of each denomination they would like. They then press Enter to confirm the amount and then Dispense. The recycler will then dispense the totals in each denomination selected. The receipt will be printed for the drawer, and now the cashier has the money they need for their till!

How does a store leverage the XpressCash solution to streamline end-of-day balancing?

It’s important for your store to balance to the Point of Sale cash receipts totals at the end of the day. Here’s how XpressCash simplifies the process.

When it’s time for a shift change and every associate needs to prove they are in balance, they are each going to bring the cash from their drawers and their POS receipt to the cash recycler that’s controlled by the XpressCash solution. They will place their cash into the collection tray and press Deposit.

The recycler will collect and count the cash, and XpressCash solution will show the total amount deposited. The associate will then press Accept and then Balance and then enter their POS total to continue. Once the POS total is entered, the XpressCash solution will let the associate know whether they are in balance for the day. If the associate’s cash totals are balanced, they are ready to end their shift! If they are out of balance, the associate can deposit additional funds. Perhaps there were excess $100s under the till that they forgot; or if they realize they made a mistake keying in their POS total, they can enter the correct total. All of these transactions, as well as their balancing status, are logged providing a full audit trail for each associate.
